Robert Camerlo
Taking trips to the food bank to drop off toys for needy children and assisting residents who can't pay their utility bills are just a couple of ways that Robert Camerlo has been able to contribute to his community. Robert, Chairman of the board at the Salvation Army, has been involved with the organization in some capacity for many years.

He has always had a big investment in the town of Freeport whether in the business world or in his efforts to improve the community. His business career began in the family grocery store, which he eventually took over. He expanded the business into a deli and catering business as well as opening a bakery across the street. From there he bought a variety store nearby and ran these businesses for many years. Some time later he opened his first card store in Grove City and then ventured into a couple of Hallmark stores in Natrona and Lower Burrell.

Although he was extremely busy during these years he still made the time to be involved in the things that affected his neighborhood. He sat on the Freeport Pool Board, Freeport Library Board, was a member of the Kiwanis as well working with the Salvation Army. Robert also served on the board at the Valley National Bank.

He eventually sold the Freeport stores and expanded into card stores. Several years ago he decided to sell the entire bunch and retire. He had an interesting career but he is finding out that retirement isn't so bad either.

Besides all the volunteer work that he does, Robert enjoys playing golf, watching his grandchildren, and going to Florida with his wife Andrea. He also enjoys cutting the grass. When it's only you and the mower he said that it can be pretty relaxing. After all the years of having such a busy lifestyle which included managing 100 people, as well as numerous stores, and raising three children, it's nice to be able to slow down a bit. Although his life may have slowed down, it has continued to remain full and satisfying.
