Lady Foxes Coach Jeremy Bennett
"Our aspect has changed, we're more guard oriented, more perimeter oriented," says Fox Chapel girls' basketball Coach Jeremy Bennett. The Lady Foxes have shifted gears a bit, going from last year's bigger team to a quicker team. Last year, the 15-9 squad finished third in the section and made the playoffs for the first time in a while; this year's edition started the season off by winning their own tip-off tournament, the first in several years.

"They're a dedicated group…they're competitors and winners," Bennett notes. "They haven't won that section or WPIAL championship yet…but the record and the way that they handle themselves on and off the court—they're great students, they're winners. Overall, they're a group of kids that really does a nice job. Good things are going to come."

Jeremy is starting to see some of those good things come this year. The Lady Foxes include one senior and seven juniors; the juniors were all part of the eighth-grade team he coached when he first got to the program. "We have the right group of kids and their mindset is the right mindset to be successful on the court. But most of all I have to thank those kids. The time they give us (the coaching staff), we couldn't ask for more," the coach says. "The dedication and focus they give us is great…they understand why we're there…the kids are working extremely hard. We never doubt that." Coach Jeremy Bennett explains who makes up this team in the online video at the High School Girls' Basketball Coaches Archives.
