When you think of a Country Club you often associate the words exclusive and expensive with it, but Willowbrook County Club restaurant is anything but that. Probably one of the areas biggest secrets is the Club’s great restaurant that has tantalizing entrees, superb service and a relaxing atmosphere set in the country. Pricing is modest, the menu is extensive and there has never been a complaint about the food or service.
The restaurant not only offers lunch and dinner from March to November, but you can book wedding dinners, and any other type of luncheon or dinner event or party. There is an upper and lower dining room, grillroom and patio for dining with a capacity of 150 persons. Willowbrook is priced very competitively, especially for special events. Businesses also find the Club a great place to bring their clients or customers. The best feature outside of the great food and low prices is its location in the country where everything is quiet, relaxing and peaceful. Many restaurants have a certain noise level that often is annoying. You won’t hear that here. You are away from the hustle and bustle of life and you can’t help but feel relaxed. There also is plenty of parking unlike other places where it can be a problem.
Len Hoch is President of Willowbrook Country Club. He told us that the Club has a good number of members that primarily are there for golfing. They come from an approximate 25-mile radius of their location next to the lake at Northmoreland Park in Allegheny Township. The Club also offers a Social Membership that permits unlimited use of the dining room. The Social Membership is a low $25.00 a year and entitles you to invite others to lunch or dinner. The Club charges this fee because it is non-profit club and membership is a requirement.
Frankly, having a private Club membership to invite family, friends and business acquaintances to dinner, especially at a 214-acre golf course nestled away in the woods, can set you apart from the usual, especially for those who dine out more than once or twice a month. You will find those you take there will greatly appreciate your choice.
The Club’s luncheon menu is a fare of salads, combos, and sandwiches, all very inexpensive. Some of the specials are Portobello Mushroom Sandwich, Sweet Sausage Pattie and Italian Grill along with some great hoagies and Grilled Reuben. There are five Appetizers for dinner and a Soup DuJour, Wedding Soup or French Onion Soup. The main menu features a Taste of Italy featuring the Pasta of the day, Cajun Seafood Pasta, Eggplant Parmesan, Linguini and clams, Manicotti and Linguini and Broccoli Aglio Olio. The Seafood menu offers shrimp, crab, swordfish and other fish dishes while the From The Land menu has steaks, pork chops, liver, and veal. The restaurant does invite guests to inquire about special request dinner items. The new 2005 menu will be out soon. Call Tina Fedoruk, Banquet Manager, if you have any questions or want to know more information. You can reach her at 724-727-3146. One final note on the restaurant: Ron Eummo is an award-winning Chef and good chefs make the difference in your dining experience.
