Forget about garage sales and expensive classifieds. If you’re looking to sell something then head directly to Gone2Market in Vandergrift. An online auction service that sells your items on eBay, Gone2Market, is the hottest new way to sell your extra stuff to get cash according to Brandon Tweten, Store Manager. “There’s no risk involved,” he said, “we do all the work and you get money”. He explained the process as a service where you bring your items into the store, the value is determined, professional photos are taken, a professional description is written and it all goes up for auction to millions of potential buyers. When it sells, Gone2Market handles the purchase, verifies the payment, arranges the shipping at the buyer’s expense and you get a check. “We take all the hard and risky work out of the process, letting you sell your items online safely to make money,” he said.

According to millions of Americans who now use this service, it is a no risk way to get extra cash. “You potentially reach millions of buyers right away, usually you can get top prices for hot items, and it’s quicker,” Mr. Tweten said. Given that classifieds take time to get up and demand a cost up front, and of course the buyer has to be reading it, and garage sales involve days of hard work to reach only a handful of local buyers, it makes sense that using an online auction is much better. A fifteen minute stop at Gone2Market to drop off your items is all it takes!

When I asked Brandon what sells on eBay, he responded, “Just about anything can sell, but there are certain categories that are more hot and will go quickly”. He listed collectibles, electronics, antiques, art, jewelry, designer clothing and accessories among many items. Currently there is a big market for memorabilia from the 1950’s and 60’s. Sports equipment and memorabilia are also hot items. Car accessories are also in big demand. The plus factor is that you can sell almost anything online. Brandon does recommend a minimum value of $50.00 per item.

Brandon explained there are three ways to sell items online through Gone2Market. You can use their free service known as "open bidding" and take whatever your item will sell for, or you can set a "reserve price" on it for a small fee. Reserve price is the lowest amount you will take, but it isn’t revealed to those bidding on the item. Using reserve pricing is for items that have an established value and protects these from selling for less than price you want. The third way to sell on eBay through Gone2Market is “Buy Now” feature is where you set the price and it is first come at that price, first served.

One surprising thing I learned when interviewing Brandon for this story is that the online market is also big on buying and selling cars. On eBay alone there is a whole section dedicated to cars and certain older cars do very well. In fact, cars aren’t the only big items you can sell. You can even sell your home online. There really isn’t any limit to what can be sold. And according to Mr. Tweten Gone2Market has the online sales knowledge to help you whether you are a stay-at-home mom looking to clear out that extra attic stuff or a local business looking to tap into the power of online sales.

Brandon Tweten and the staff of Gone2Market have been online selling and buying items online for years now. He recently sold a number of items and told me that everyone's items sold at a profit. Brandon stated that, "It is this experience and knowledge of Gone2Market's online selling that will work for you. Navigating the online sales process in an ocean of buyers and sellers requires special knowledge of product values, descriptions that draw buyers, electronic cash transfers etc.. We know the ins and outs and we put it to work for you". The online sales process requires setting up accounts, securing payment services, shipping, etc. Gone2Market does all that for you and takes the work out of selling. You can even watch your items online while the auction is going on. It is virtually risk free.

Businesses use Gone2Market’s business services to help sell their products and stock. Current stock or overstock items are sold and Gone2Market offers tailored business services including an exclusive business auction web page. Particular businesses, such as car dealers, antique dealers, craft shops, and similar services greatly benefit from using Gone2Market to sell their items. Liquidating services are also available to businesses looking to liquidate stock, equipment, machinery and office equipment.

Brandon also pointed out that churches and organizations use Gone2Market for fundraising. Fundraising is always a challenge for groups needing money, but under the Gone2Market Fundraising plan all the work is done for the organization. Brandon said a fundraising kit is available and organizations need only to have their members collectively donate the items for sale with the proceeds going to the organization. He also pointed out that Gone2Market does all the work in getting the items online for the churches and organizations.

This sure isn't my momma's garage sale. This is a red hot exciting new service that is sweeping the nation. If you are looking to turn you stuff into extra cash for the summer you can bring it to;
