Jesse Bier
Jesse Bier, second grader at Vandergrift Elementary, has an unusual talent that was discovered several years ago when his grandmother gave him a very special gift. That gift was a ventriloquist dummy that was used by Jesse's father when he was a child. Jesse learned how to throw his voice and has now added to his collection of dummies. He now owns Slappy, Charlie McCarthy, and Willie Talks. They purchased the dummies over the Internet because they're pretty hard to find. The more involved they are the more expensive they are. Jesse said that his dummies are plastic and they move their mouth by a string in the back.

Jesse is a dedicated student in school and received a 'Perfect Attendance' award for the past school year. His favorite subjects are science and social studies because he really enjoys the projects that they do in class. He also enjoys art; especially painting.

Now that school is out and summer is in, Jesse spends a lot of time with his new Pitt Bull puppy, Cloe, and playing with his friends. He also takes care of his turtle, Harry that he's had for a couple of years and helps around the house with the chores. Jesse is also interested in sports and likes to play basketball.

Family outings are also a favorite of Jesse's. He has been to Seaworld, The Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium and the Carnegie Museum. He also attends youth group at the First Reformed Church of God in Vandergrift. Jesse would like to one day become a ventriloquist and an artist.
