It looked like a long season for Freeport Golf. “This year we were not expected to be that competitive,” says Coach Dave Panach, “because of no returning starters from last year’s team.” The Jackets were really underdogs, especially when several more experienced golfers went on to play another sport. But the team rose up in face of adversity. They put together a stunning 12-2 season and shared the section crown with West Shamokin.
