The Boulevard Restaurant at Hollywood Square, Delmont
The Boulevard Restaurant at Hollywood Square in Delmont may be a new restaurant to the area, but it has 42 years of dining history and experience behind it. Owned by Bobbie Pushic of Greensburg, the family restaurant has its roots in Greensburg where he started with a supper club in the 1970’s. The new Boulevard Restaurant opened August 2nd in 2004 and has continued to grow in popularity.

The first impression when entering is The Boulevard’s ambience that offers a special atmosphere with lots of window light, plants and a Hollywood theme after the name of the Hollywood Square shopping location. The main dining room has ample spacing with an overflow and private party area discreetly separated with glass and window covering that prevents viewing in, but allows plenty of light. A drinking area is also separated from the main dining room with more dining tables for smokers. It too is discreetly designed so as to not interfere with the main dining room guests. Looks can be deceiving when you walk in as the restaurant appears to have a small space, but 240 people can be seated for dining.

The Boulevard is a classic American grill offering a wide variety of food that should satisfy any appetite. The variety includes presenting fresh and unique choices on the menu. Considering salads alone, most restaurants offer Caesar Salad, but few offer it in choices such as chicken, tune or salmon. I love salads, but find many menus offer much of the same. Not The Boulevard. Consider Asian Bonsai, Caribbean Tuna Salad, Some Like It Hot Salad, Boulevard (House) Salad, Gyro Salad, Greek Salad and Bringing Down the House Salad! Now, that’s variety.

Michael Short, The Boulevard Manager
Scene One are the Appetizers offering Our Almost Famous Wings (served in a number of sauces including garlic), Hot Pepper Cheese Cubes, Asiago Stuffed Olives, Spicy Quesadilla, Rat Pack (there’s a name! Actually, it’s a sampler), Stuffed Hot Bananas and Peel-n-Eat Shrimp in Old Bay or Cajun style. There are two standard soups, Chili and Baked French Onion and Sup of the Day, all made from scratch. Becoming more popular as an appetizer are the Bread Bowls and three types are offered: Artichoke & Spinach Dip; Meatball & Mozzarella Fondue; and Buffalo Chicken Dip.

From there we leap to Scene Two that presents steaks, pork chops, seafood, pasta, chicken and BBQ combos. I might add, there is lighter fare in sandwiches, famous burgers and The Famous Paninis sandwiches, The Godfather, Paparazzi and The Breakfast Club. The pizza choices are most interesting with a four and twelve cut. Buffalo Chicken Pizza leads the list with Spinach and Feta pizza, BBQ Chicken Pizza, Artichoke & Spinach pizza, and White Pizza, all with a choice of toppings. The sandwich menu has interesting options such as Rachael (similar to a Reuben); Jumbo Fish, Gyro, Bobby Dale (triple decker), Not Your Average Sandwich and Juddy Special (Corned beef). There are four chicken sandwiches, Fog Horn, Chicken Bacon, The Classic Grill and The Blue Brothers followed by the Famous Burgers with eight different choices led by the one and only John Wayne. Or, how about Old Bleu Eyes!

The Boulevard is a family owned restaurant where all food is fresh, cooking is from scratch on many items, prices are low and quantities are more than sufficient. Lunch specials are offered Monday through Friday, Early Bird specials are offered from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday. You can book private parties with up to 60 people. There is an outside café for warm weather eating. You can also get take out on any menu items and The Boulevard offers catering services.
