Real Estate Agent Marietta L. Blowgeaux of Howard Hanna, Apollo, is passionate about her career. “This is my career and I take it very seriously,” she told me in our interview. It really began when she had to buy a home for herself and was a single woman. That experience took place over 20 years ago when it first became possible for single women to buy home. It also began a journey that brought her to Real Estate sales as a career. And, it also is one of the reasons why she is so successful with first time home buyers.

Marietta tells the story about a single woman looking to buy her first home. She wanted the home in a particular area, but had a hard time believing she could even qualify, based on her income. Marietta worked with her, found the home she wanted (and in the area she desired) and got her approved. To this day she still sends notes thanking her for fulfilling her dream. Marietta points out a lot of first time home buyers have a hard time believing they can get a home. It’s all part of why she, as a Real Estate agent, is there. It isn’t just finding the right home; it is also finding the right pricing and financing.

Marietta specializes in first time home buyers and is very successful in getting what they want at the right price and securing financing. “The ability to communicate and understand their needs and take them through the process,” Marietta said, “is very important.” She said the highlight of her career is the number of friends she has made while selling homes. “Some are very good friends,” she said. It is also why Marietta is involved in the community as a member of the Parks Township Volunteer Fire Department, Kiski Area Football Boosters, and Valley Points YMCA.

“The market is good, sales are very good,” Marietta said. “There are a lot pf houses that are very attractive and are reaching lows,” she went on. In other words, it is a buyers market and the time to find a good home at a good price. She also indicated that there is a very broad range in the types of homes to select from. “A lot of different types of financing to accommodate every type of buyer” are available also.

Marietta has invested in continuing education and holds certifications as a Graduate of the Real Estate Institute, Accredited Buyer Representative, Residential Relocation Specialist, and Certified Residential Specialist. She also belongs to the Multi-Millionaire Club, a Real Estate club for those who sell more than a million dollars in housing each year. It is a testimony to her success for both the seller and buyer. She has accomplished this particular honor for the years 2005 and 2006.

I asked what to look for in selecting a Real Estate Agent and Marietta said, “seasoned, education, experience, and personality.” She also said the buyer and seller need to be comfortable with the Agent they select. Marietta covers the Kiski Valley as her main area, but has homes in Butler, Springdale and other places.

A native of this area, Marietta has two children, John, 18, and Annie, 12. She resides in Parks Township. She has been with Howard Hanna over six years and was previously two other agencies.
