Kiski Area School District is in the top 20% of Pennsylvania schools and when it came to doing their web site they decided to do it right and have it professionally done. The result is a pleasing and easy to navigate web site that Dr. Stephen M. Vak, Superintendent, in his brief opening says, "Please join me on a visit to the Big K!"

Found at www.kiskiarea.com, the web site gives you a comprehensive overview of the school district. From the opening page, there are ten major areas of interest you can select to view. If you don't have the time there are "Fast Facts" available along with the school board "Elected Officials" and "Order of Business" information on the Board's operations.

The six elementary schools and the secondary schools (Intermediate and High) each have their own pages with an introduction by the overseeing Administrative Assistant. The listing of each school's Principal follows this. These pages are further sub-divided by each school's own web page that gives overall information, teachers, staff, and curriculum. One can easily see how important this is for persons needing to determine who is who and valuable for those interested in moving to our area.

Special Education is another section of interest under Dr. John M. Meighan, Assistant Superintendent (and Superintendent-elect upon Dr. Vak's retirement). There's a lot of information on this page including a section on the Reading Program.

Another nice feature of the web site is a calendar of scheduled events. It's great in this electronic age not to have to go looking for the calendar paper copy that you may have mislaid somewhere! It's on the Internet.
