Ty Travaglia
Ty Travaglia took his first steps at Highpoint National Raceway when he was nine months old. His father, Brad, has been riding in local events for years so Ty has been exposed to dirt bikes and racing all his young life. His first experiences on two wheels where riding along with his father but it wasn't long before he wanted his own dirt bike.

One of the conditions that his parents set down for him to be able to ride on his own was that he needed to be able to ride a two-wheeler without training wheels. At the time Ty wasn't even three years old. Never thinking that he would be able to accomplish that feat until he was older, his mother agreed that if he were able to do this proficiently they would buy him his own dirt bike. Well, Ty was very determined and practiced constantly. He was three years old when he accomplished this and about six months later he was riding his own dirt bike.

Ty is now five years old and rides a Yamaha PW50. He enjoys riding his dirt bike and during the warmer weather rides about four or five nights a week. Besides traveling to different local tracks, they have a large dirt bike track in their back yard that they use. Ty enjoys riding the different tracks but hasn't ventured into competing yet. That will come when he is ready. His parents haven't pushed him in any direction; they are leaving the decision up to him.

Because Brad has spent so much time in racing, his family has developed many relationships with other families. In fact, Ty has about five or six other children around his age that he has become friends with and that he can ride with. He also enjoys racing his mother who got her first bike last year. It has turned out to be a great family sport. Ty's younger sister Natalie isn't riding on her own yet but it is just a matter of time.

Although Ty really enjoys racing, his father stated that animals are his favorite and he would probably still choose going to the zoo over riding his dirt bike. Ty and his family live in Leechburg. He attends Ronnie Lynn's Nursery School in Apollo.
