Most young girls enjoy talking; usually on the telephone. This wonderful skill seems to develop quite naturally at quite an early age. One ten-year old from Plum has taken that natural ability and honed it into a skill that has won her awards.

One area youngster, Jason Carter, is making his mark as an outstanding athlete at age eight. Yet sports account for only one aspect of his life. He is a happy, all-around kid.

Dr. Timothy Sluser recalls at a young age sitting down with his dad and discussing what he should become when he grew up. His father, Theodore F. Sluser who was the Superintendent of Valley School at that time, told him he should become a doctor or a dentist. Chuckling he stated, "dentists get to play more golf." This was just a confirmation for him that he was meant to be a dentist. After all, he actually began a career in dentistry in the second grade pulling out his friend's baby teeth.

This quality was birthed by their parents who have readily given up time to care for those who have a need.
