Our Kids Building Tomorrows Leaders
Cadet Lieutenant Colonial Richard Huth shouted out orders to the drill team under his command as they marched the length of the Valley High School gymnasium. The JROTC students were an impressive site as they proudly walked through their military exercises, retired WWII M16’s resting on their shoulders. They competed against seven other schools in the Annual League One, JROTC Drill Team Competition that was held recently. After six hours of drills the team ended up with an impressive second place.

AK Educators Proud to be Part of the Family
What do scuba diving, working in a hospital, and expertise in curriculum development all have in common? These are just a few aspects of the schema, which make up the background of Leechburg’s new member. The Leechburg Area Middle High School began the year with a new principal, Ms. Karen Hulse. Karen brings a diverse educational background and a wealth of skills in curriculum development. These qualities, combined with her enthusiasm for bolstering student success, make her an excellent addition to the Leechburg family.

from The Editor Congrat to Coach Heater
Kiski Area High School has reached into its own deep reserve of coaching talent for their new head football coach. The Cavaliers' existing ninth grade football coach and award winning assistant Wrestling Coach, Chris Heater, is taking over the helm of the Cav Football program. A-K Dining Charley’s Place Is Dining Home To Many
Charley’s Place is one of those true American dining destinations where all the locals gather. It is very rare that you drive by Charley’s Place on Route 66 next to Route 819 and not see the parking lot full of cars, and, if you do, it will be only minutes before the next group of cars pulls in. Open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week, there is a loyal patronage of customers who make Charley’s Place their second home.
