Superintendant Dr. George Cooke of the Plum School District. |
The Plum School District is getting ready for this year's Make A Wish telethon. This year's theme is "Brightening Lives…one wish at a time. The telethon ties together all the Make-A-Wish fund raising efforts that took place during the fall. Each of Plum's schools designed ways to raise money for this important effort which changes the lives of children with life-threatening illnesses. Last year, Plum's students raised over $73,000 making it number one in the nation among school districts who fund raise for Make-A-Wish. This is the second year in a row that Plum Schools came out as the top fundraiser, and combining the two-year effort, Plum schools ranked number one in the world among school districts.
The telethon will be held on Monday, December 23 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. The broadcast will run on Adelphia Cable access channel 19 beginning December 23 at 7 p.m. and repeated through January 1.
