Sgt. Tony Dipanis of the Vandergrift Police Department

Yesterday the Allegheny Township Police were called to assist the Apollo Police with a fleeing suspect. Jerome Bell of Ford City, had struck a Vandergrift Police car at the intersection of SR 356 and Hyde Park Road. He then entered the Sandalwood Complex and abandoned his vehicle running east on the SR 56 Bypass. He was stopped and taken into custody by the Apollo Police Department. Several other surrounding departments also assisted with this incident.
