The icy weather that we received led to several accidents over the weekend and into the early part of this week. Troy Galmoff of Avonmore lost control of his vehicle when he tried to take evasive action in an attempt to avoid a deer in the roadway. He stuck and killed the deer and then struck a traffic sign causing damage to the sign. Troy then fled the scene of the accident on foot but did return shortly after the police arrived and surrendered the necessary information.
An auto crash occurred along Saltsburg/Slickville Road as Keith Martin Lezamic of Indiana was traveling east and failed to negotiate a right hand curve in the road. His vehicle left the road and jumped a ditch, landed and struck a utility pole and several small trees. Fortunately Keith was uninjured.
Ron Gizzi's Cheverolet truck received moderate damage when he ran off the roadway while rounding a curve and then striking a tree. This happened while he was traveling east on Saltsburg Road. Ron didn't receive any injuries.
