Race organizers Jay Schrader, Jocelyn Brown, and Elaine Zarichnak with the model student.
The annual Turkey Trot, a two-mile run through Penn State New Kensington and Upper Burrell, PA, was held on November 26. Twenty-one harriers braved the blustery weather and competed for bragging rights of the campus. The staggered starting times between noon and 1:00 p.m. allowed all students, faculty, and staff an opportunity to participate.

Dan Myers, a student, captured the men’s division with a time of 11:42. Joan Begolly, instructor in Engineering, took the women’s division with a sparkling 16:43.

Freshmen Jen Lash, a member of the golf team, crosses the finish line.

All runners received Turkey Trot tee-shirts. The event was organized by Elaine Zarichnak, the campus nurse, with the help of Jay Schrader, program coordinator for the Division of Undergraduate Studies, and Jocelyn Brown, assistant in the Office of Student Activities.
