Kiski Area wins PIMBA Championship
On November 1, 2003, Kiski's Big "K" band captured the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Marching Band Association (PIMBA) championship defeating Norwin in the National Class competition. Bands are designated National Class if they qualify for three consecutive years for finals competition in a Bands of America (BOA) sponsored regional event. In earning its PIMBA Championship, Kiski won all three "caption" awards for outstanding music, outstanding visual performance and outstanding general effect. Kiski score of 95.8 was the highest score among all 24 bands competing at the PIMBA competition.

This is the second consecutive year that Kiski has won the National Class championship at PIMBA. Earlier this year, Kiski won the AA Regional Class Championship held at Youngstown State University on October 18, 2003.

On November 13-15, 2003, Kiski will travel to Indianapolis Indiana to compete with 90 other bands from across the country in BOA's Grand National Championship in the RCA Dome. A welcome home celebration will be held at Kiski Area High School on Sunday November 16, 2003. Everyone in the Kiski Area community is invited to greet the Big K as they return home from representing Kiski Area in National Competition.
