A "first" program on career planning will be held by the Alliance for Career education on Wednesday, November 17, 2004 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the Forbes Road Career and Technology Center in Monroeville on Beatty Road.

Students (grades 7-12) of Highlands School District are invited to attend. There will be many topics covered during the evening such as; associate degrees for union apprentices, career opportunities in bio-technology, four-year degree programs, career fields and their salaries, and a special evaluation program that improves basic skills while measuring them.

Junior Achievement will provide a representative that will show age-appropriate hands-on activities for students from Kindergarten to the Sixth grade. The students will have the opportunity to learn basic business and economic principles.
