The New Apollo Bridge
LEONARD C. MILLER BRIDGE WILL BE DEDICATED IN JANUARY

To commemorate the life of Apollo Patrolman Leonard C. Miller a very special ceremony will be held January 3rd, 2005 to dedicate the newly completed bridge that connects Armstrong and Westmoreland Counties and everyone is invited.

On that date, 25 years ago, Leonard C. Miller gave his life in the line of duty protecting the citizens of our area. At noon a large group of grateful citizens will assemble by the water to honor him and officially unveil plaques that will be placed at each end of the structure.

We hope you will honor this opportunity and join many citizens in thanking a great and kind person who served us well. A 21-gun aerial salute, symbolic tossing of a flower wreath into the waters below and music provided by students of the Apollo Ridge School District will provide tribute to Leonard.

At 1:00 pm a reception, open to the public, will take place at the Apollo Community Center Building where video of the building of the bridge and a collection of photos of the "life and times" of Patrolman Miller will blend together to provide a community direction for the future. We hope you will join with us to make this an event to remember.
