John Levri - student at St. Joseph's
St. Joseph High School senior and Sarver resident John Levri was named the St. Joseph High School Boy of the Year by the Allegheny Valley Optimist Club. The service organization’s goal is to encourage the development of youth, with a motto "Friend of Youth."

Levri is involved in a variety of activities at the school. This past spring, he represented SJHS at the state History Day competition, where his group received a second place award in the Senior Group Documentary category. He also received a Second Award placement at the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science Region 7 Meeting earlier this year. At the 65th Pittsburgh Regional Science and Engineering Fair, he received several scholarships from local colleges. He also was recognized as an Associate Scientist in the Perseverance Award Category. He is the son of James and Margaret Levri.

Runners-up for the honor at SJHS were seniors and Leechburg resident Patrick Pugliese and Brackenridge resident Christopher Conroy.
