The Allegheny Valley Institute for the Development of Learning (AVID Learning) has just opened a new facility in New Kensington. The Institute will house a variety of services for children with developmental delays and physical and/or learning disabilities, or those who need evaluations to determine the presence of such.

"We wanted a one-stop shop right here in the A-K Valley. Parents from this region are tired of navigating Pittsburgh and having to be placed on waiting lists to receive critical services for their children," stated Rebecca Moyes, former teacher and noted author of three books in the field of autism. Rebecca is the president/owner of the institute.

The institute will offer speech therapy, occupational therapy, evaluations, tutoring, school based consultations, workshops and many other services. The facility is located at 401 Eighth Street in New Kensington. To learn more about the services and supports that are available, or to place your name on a mailing list to receive information, you can phone the institute at 724-594-1090.
