The Alle-Kiski Christian Singles Fellowship launched its new program with a 'Country Picnic' on August 23. The fellowship, held in Allegheny Township on Pastor Jim Laero's property, was a wonderful success with about fifty in attendance.
Speakers from business sponsors Highvision and Alle-Kiski Today, as well as ministry sponsor, Inspired Ministries, and a representative from the singles fellowship spoke briefly before the night's entertainment began.
Singer Nate Watkins from Holiday Park performed a variety of Christian songs as the guests ate and chatted with each other. From there, country comedian 'Billy Tim' took the stage and began his routine by singing a few songs of his own. He was also kind enough to explain the difference between y-all, all y-all, and all y-all's and give the correct usage in a sentence. After the entertainment, everyone split up into groups and played Bible Pictionary. The night concluded after a sing-a-long at the bonfire.
The menu for the evening promised hor'deurves, dinner, and dessert; but it was more like a banqueting feast. There was teriyaki shish kabob, deep fried meatballs, a large variety of picnic foods and an array of desserts.
The monthly Alle-Kiski Christian Singles Fellowships are designed to give Christian singles aged thirty and over an opportunity to meet other Christian singles.
