Six students out of the total graduating class of 35 at St. Joseph High School in Natrona Heights are now freshmen at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe.

  • Philip Wardoclip, son of James and Cecilia Wardoclip of New Kensington;
  • Nicholas Pityk, son of Carol and Jerry Pityk of West Leechburg;

and back row,

  • Josh Robinson, son of Michele and Scott Robinson of Tarentum;
  • Chris Smith, son of James and Grace Smith of Plum Borough; and,
  • John Kuruc, son of John and Joann Kuruc of Vandergrift.

According to members of the group, other St. Joseph graduates, already enrolled at Saint Vincent, had enthusiastically recommended the Benedictine, Catholic college whose strong academic programs and attractive campus were big draws. “I knew the school’s acceptance rate for medical schools was high,” said John Kuruc, who is a biology major with an interest in a career in medicine. The other students are thinking about careers in dentistry, marketing, graphic design and history.
