See trees over more than 200 years old and over 3 feet in diameter. Learn why leaves change different colors of red, orange, and yellow. Learn how the summer climate and rainfall affects fall color. Also learn how to identify the different trees in the mosaic of woodlands in the park.
Harrison Hills is an Allegheny County Park with over 500 acres. It is located in Natrona Heights. Take Route 28N to Exit 16. Turn right off of the exit ramp and go about 1 mile until you reach Freeport Road. The park entrance will be less than a mile on your left.
We will meet at Broken Branch Grove (bear right at Park entrance and proceed to the very end of the drive).
The guided walk is FREE, but you need to pre-register for this interpretive hike by calling Tammy at (724) 733-4618 or Patrick at (724) 224-4102.
