General Forbes' Army cutting the road to Ft Duquesne in the fall of 1758
Did you know that Colonel George Washington, along with General John Forbes and some 2500 men, cut a road through current day Boyce Park in Plum? In November of 1758 on their way to take Ft Duquesne they cut a primitive road through the area. They camped on the night of November 22, 1758 without tents or wagons. It was a cold muddy fall.

Gary and Tom will take you through their process of determining where this trek took place using documents from 1758 to modern GPS navigational equipment.

The program is FREE to the public, registration is required. Please call the Plum Community Library to reserve your seat, 412-798-7323.

The program is Wednesday November 1st 7:00 PM at Plum Borough Council Chambers 4575 New Texas Rd.
