The Rook and Ladder Chess Club is open for all students K - 12 including cyber students in the AKV. This local chess club is a spot for children interested in learning or wishing to expend their game play.

Emphasis is given toward involvement in the US Chess Federation Tournaments the take place through out the year. Club time is 2pm to 4pm on the first Sunday of the month, and currently meeting at the LB VFC #3 station across from Bon Aire School on Leechburgh road.

12/9/06 - 8th Annual Catholic Schools Championship at St Raphael's School. The Catholic Schools Championship is only open to students attending Catholic Schools.

1/6/07 - Tri-State Junior Chess Open at Carnegie Mellon University.

1/27/07 - 13th Annual Fox Chapel Championship at O'Hara Elementary. The Fox Chapel Championship is only open to students attending schools in the Fox Chapel School District or Shady Shady Middle School, Shady Side High School, and Transfiguration School.

2/10/07 - date is tentative - 2007 Pittsburgh Scholastic Chess Championship at Brashear High School. Details will follow when available.
