1850 Lingrow Farm in Gilpin Township during renovation
Linda Alworth, founder of Lingrow Farm is marking her first anniversary in business and is seeing a rapid increase in business as people learn about her new venue. The barn, originally built in 1850 to house livestock, was one of the oldest remaining structures in Gilpin Township. It has been transformed to a grand facility for party and meetings. The Amish of Smicksburg took about 6 months of work to complete the transformation. Alworth and her staff handled the transportation for the daily commute for the Amish.

"There's no question that business is growing with 22 Weddings for 2007 and more booked for 2008" says Alworth, a native of the Alle-Kiski Valley. "Our barn offers weddings from the simple to the very formula atmosphere." Many of the brides are from the Pittsburgh Area. As we moving into the coming year the goal is to enter the corporate market for meetings during the week.

The Internet has been very instrumental in our success thus far. The website helps us reach a much greater audience. As the business grows work projects continue to make the property a shining gem in the community.
