The Vandergrift Improvement Program (VIP) is slating a clean up day for Vandergrift and East Vandergrift on April 19th from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The clean up day is to provide an opportunity to dispose of unwanted items. Items such as tires, household appliances and recyclable items will possibly qualify for new uses. Items that can't be reused will be properly disposed of.

Volunteers are needed for the six hour event. In addition to volunteers, the VIP is seeking sponsors for the dumpsters. The state had covered landfill fees in the past, but are no longer providing this assistance. Sponsors will help provide the funds needed. There are three levels of sponsorship: Gold at $400.00; Silver at $200.00 and Patron at any donated amount. Checks may be made payable to the "Vandergrift Improvement Program." Cash and credit cards are also accepted. Those contributing will be acknowledged through printed materials and signage on April 19th.
