A free fishing derby will be held on Sunday, May 25 at Northmoreland Park from 8:00am to 1:00pm. This event is sponsored by Westmoreland County Parks and Recreation and the Westmoreland County Sportsmen’s League.

First, second and third place trophies and merchandise will be awarded for longest trout, and longest other fish of legal size in both the adult and youth divisions. Trophies and merchandise will also be awarded for the longest carp, and for the best “Catch of the Day.” There will be a door prize drawing following the derby for all registered participants. All contestants must be registered by 12:00 noon to be eligible for prizes.

Registration is free and begins at the boathouse at 7:15am on the day of the derby. Adults age 16 and over must display a valid 2008 Pennsylvania Fishing License.
