Moraine Trails Council and the River Valley District of the Boy Scouts of America recently held their 2008 Distinguished Scouter Breakfast in the Leechburg Elks Ballroom. A buffet breakfast was served by Addison House Catering to a large crowd made up of Scouts, their families, Scouting supporters and local government and law enforcement officials.

The Hon. Michael Gerheim served as Master of Ceremonies for this event. The Rev. Gary J. Lyon lead the Invocation.

Distinguished Scouter Awards were presented by: Bishop Decker, from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to Ruth Cogley; by Terry Tague, Owner of Metco Supply, to Margaret (Peggy) Dvorznak; and by Lt. Steven Ignatz, PA State Police, Barracks Commander, to The Hon. Gary Decomo.

Each of these award recipients has devoted endless energy working with and for the youth of our area, promoting programs such as Scouting and Drug Awareness and providing our children with excellent leadership and role models.
