The Fox Chapel Crew Women's Lightweight 8+ captured a fourth place finish in the Scholastic Rowing Association of America (SRAA) National Championship against a field of fifteen of the country’s elite high school crews.

The Fox Chapel crew finished just two-tenths of a second behind the bronze medal winners and less than four seconds behind the first place medalists. The FC women, led by Coach Sara Osier, qualified for the SRAA National Championship Regatta by winning a gold medal at the Midwest Scholastic Rowing Championship on May 11.

The Lightweight Women's 8+ boat included Kristen Boyle, Erin Ford, Audrey Kelly, Cara Masserelli, Katie McCarthy, Meghan Monahan, Molly Toig and Risa Trump. Lindsay Miller was the coxswain of boat.

In three 1500 meter races in just twenty-four hours, the Fox Chapel crew improved their time by over twenty seconds, and narrowly missed a medal in the finals in a finish determined by electronic timing.

Over 150 of the country's top scholastic crews competed in thirty-two different event classes on Lake Melton in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

The Fox Chapel Women will wind up their season with the US Rowing Youth National Championships in Cincinnati June 13-15.
