Apollo Historical Society
The next two weekends in the Apollo area will see two big events sponsored by the Apollo Historical Society.

This Sunday, June 15th, the second program in the summer Heritage series will be held starting at 1:30 p.m. at the Drake Log Cabin in Apollo. The Cabin is located on Williams Alley, just off of Kiski Avenue.

Mary Dugan of Tarentum will perform music of the 1800's on the Mountain Dulcimer starting at 1:30 p.m. She will also give a brief history of Mountain Dulcimer and be available for tuning of instruments brought by those attending.

"A Visit From A Civil War Soldier" will begin at 2:30 p.m. Bill May of Butler will present an authentic first person account of the experiences of Private Hinchberger as he returns home from the "War of Rebellion". Hinchberger, of the 78th Pennsylvania Volunteers, was May's great-Great Grandfather. He kept a daily dairy of his time during the war.

The next weekend, Saturday, June 21st from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., the Annual "Apollo Car Cruise-In To The Oldies" will be at Lackey's Dairy Queen on River Road in North Apollo. The event is also sponsored by the Apollo Historical Society.

There is a $7.00 entry fee and all cars, trucks and motorcycles are welcome. There will be food, music, and prizes. Dash Plaques will be given to the first 50 entrants and limited trophies will also be awarded. Free milk shakes will be available to entrants. The Cruse-In is held rain or shine.
