The Tom Thumb Circus, heads the list of variety entertainment at the Labor United Celebration. Circus shows will be held both Sunday and Monday at 12:00 Noon, 2:00 PM, 4:00 PM, and 5:45 PM. Some of the acts featured will include clowns, jugglers, aerialists, and animal acts. The circus shows are offered free of charge!
This year's lineup of musical entertainment once again includes the Vogues, with classic oldies performances Monday at 3:30 PM and 5:00 PM. The Vogues, an internationally acclaimed group, have traveled the world making great music. The audience will recognize many of their biggest hits, such as “Five O’Clock World” and “Turn Around (Look at Me).”
Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers will make their first ever appearance at the event, and will perform Sunday at 4:00 PM. Since he released his first album in 1979, Joe has been a Pittsburgh icon. So much so that there has been a documentary film produced about him – "A Good Life – the Joe Grushecky story."
Need a burst of energy? Then come see Stefanie Seskin and blue number nine perform Sunday at 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM. The group features a lead singer with hyperspeed moves who switches in a blur from jammin' on flute to singing her sassy and often funny lyrics, and groovy danceable tunes. Fun, awesome, funky, sometimes a little silly and indescribable are all words that have been used to describe blue number nine. The band is groovy, toe tapping and fun, fun, fun.
Finally, Nashville performing artist Kellie Lynne will take the stage on Monday with shows at 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM. Performing on stage since age seven, Kellie's music has always been inspired by blue collared working class people. She puts on a great show that is not to be missed!
There will be plenty of rides for the kids at the festival. An “All Day Ride Pass” can be purchased for only three dollars, which offers unlimited use of the carnival rides, pony rides, petting zoo, and kiddie train rides.
Other attractions at the event include bingo, an Arts and Crafts Show featuring over 50 exhibitors, Earl Schriver's Birds of Prey, Debo the Clown, horse drawn trolley rides, and a giant flea market with over 120 vendors.
