AKLC Studios presents Spelling Bee XVIII to benefit adult literacy. It’s all the buzz!
AKLC Studios and the Alle-Kiski Learning Center will hold its 18th Annual Adult Spelling Bee to benefit adult literacy on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at the V.F.W. Post 92 in Lower Burrell at 6:30pm.
September 17, 2008: Come and join the fun and cheer local business sponsored teams as they spell their way to the “Honey Cup”. Spelling Bee XVIII will be held at VFW Post 92, Wildlife Lodge Road, Lower Burrell on Wednesday September 17, 2008. The event starts at 6:30pm and there will be refreshments, raffles and door prizes.

- Proceeds from the Spelling Bee will benefit the adult literacy programs of the Alle-Kiski Learning Center. The AKLC provides whole family literacy service to residents of the Alle-Kiski Valley. AKLC does this through small group and one-to-one instruction in reading, writing, math, GED preparation, Job readiness, Technology and Transitioning Skills to Post-Secondary. Spelling Bee Broadcast
Spelling Bee XVIII will be videotaped and broadcast on various cable channels throughout October in the Greater Pittsburgh area. Dates, times, and channels will be announced the day of the Bee. If you miss the broadcast, DVD’s of the Bee will be available for purchase.
