The Holiday Season is fast approaching and once again Howard Hanna is holding their Annual Children's Hospital Chow Chow Luncheon on December 16, from 11am to 2pm. The admission is a $5 donation to Children's Hospital. This includes gourmet lunch buffet, prize drawings, raffles, gift baskets, entertainment and plenty of holiday cheer. The luncheon will be held at the Apollo Firehall #2 located on North Fourth Street in Apollo.

The Free Care fund provides quality health care for the children in the Tri-State area who could not otherwise afford it. In 2001 the Free Care Friends Campaign raised $1.65 million. The top ten donors to this fund were Eat'n Park Hospitality Group, Giant Eagle, Allegheny Energy, Foodland, Kohl's Department Stores, Phi Theta Phi-Thiel College, Handee Marts, Inc., AAA Western Pennsylvania/West Virginia and Penn United Technology in addition to Howard Hanna who placed second.
