The Allegheny Township Police were able to catch a suspect in the midst of a burglary attempt. The police responded to a break-in in progress call yesterday along Lynn Lane in Leechburg. When they arrived at the scene, Derek R Tierney was apprehended and arrested on charges of burglary, theft and receiving stolen property. He was found to have money and prescription drugs on his person, which were stolen, from the residence. Tierney lived in the same area as where the incident took place.

He was then taken and arraigned in front of District Justice Bernice McCutcheon.
