One of the great pieces of history housed at the historical society.

The Avonmore Historical Society and Museum is planning another great bus trip. This year's trip will take place on December 13th. The pick up in Avonmore will be at 3:30 than the bus will stop in Leechburg at 4:00pm. Final destination is Youngstown Ohio where they will be seeing Gene Fedorchak, which will be a variety show. According to Mary Lou Waynar, last year's trip was a huge success and this years looks just as good.

Anyone is welcome to come along and enjoy an evening of wonderful entertainment. The cost is $38 per person. The price includes snacks, bus fare and admission to the show. If would like more information to would like to register to go, call Mary Lou at 724-697-4819.

Mary Lou said that they are also looking forward to Light Up Night, which will take place on December 11 beginning at 6:30pm. The festivities begin with singing Carols around the tree by the memorial in Avonmore. Then comes Santa on a fire truck and they all go over to the fire hall for snacks. This tradition has been going strong for six years and is something that the entire town enjoys participating in.
