     It’s  five  o’clock  in the evening, when  Mr.  Ryan  Kociela,
     assistant principal of Plum Sr. High School leans back in  his
     chair.  He’s  staying  late  tonight  to  attend  the  varsity
     wrestling  match and the Christmas Band Concert.  Answering  a
     knock  at the door, he finds a wrestling coach with a dilemma.
     One  of  the wrestlers is supposed to play in the band concert
     that  night, but the match is scheduled at the same time.  The
     band  instructor  told the student that it  would  affect  his
     grade if he did not play in the concert. Calmly and patiently,
     Mr. Kociela solves the problem, and all is well.

     The Alle-Kiski region is a hotbed of wrestling intensity where
     you  can  see some of the best wrestling action in the  state.
     Later,  a  large  arsenal  of  wrestlers  from  these  schools
     rocketed  into the cauldron of individual post-season  action.
     It's  all about being the best and doing what it takes to  get
     it  done. It never stops and the intensity only escalates this

     lonely  for  the Kiski Area Varsity Ice Hockey  Club,  because
     there WAS NO varsity, due to low participation.

     Night At The Races
     Kiski  Area  Cavalier Baseball is hosting  a  "NIGHT  AT  THE
     RACES"  on  January  21, 2006 at the Parks Township  Firehall
     Kepple  Station, Kepple Hill Vandergrift. The doors  open  at
     6:30.  $10.00  entry fee that includes food and  drink.  Bets
     start at $2.00. Other activities include: Chinese Auction, t-
     shirt  sales, and 50/50. Come join the fun at "THE  NIGHT  AT
     THE  RACES" and help support our KISKI AREA CAVALIER BASEBALL
     TEAM.
     
     Blood Drive
     A  blood drive will be held Tuesday, January 24th from  11:30
     a.m.  to  5:30  p.m. The drive will be held at  the  Avonmore
     Volunteer Fire Hall on Fifth Street in Avonmore.
     
     Swiss Steak Dinner
     St.  Paul's Highfield Lutheran Church will be having a  Swiss
     Steak  Dinner on February 4 from 4 pm to 7 pm. The cost  will
