     On Ice, But Hot
     http://www.alle-kiskitoday.com/articles/2580

Not long agon, there were two years the winter was cold and
lonely for the Kiski Area Varsity Ice Hockey Club, because
there WAS NO varsity, due to low participation.

     Italy At The Plaza
     http://www.alle-kiskitoday.com/articles/2566

I had a mid-afternoon appointment with Brian Parks, Chef of
Café Naples at the Giant Eagle Plaza in Verona. Normally, this
is a quiet time for restaurants, but when I arrived I was
surprised at the number of patrons exiting from the
restaurant. It didn’t take long to learn that Café Naples is a
hidden treasure that is immensely popular for its Italian
cooking. That popularity has also led to excellent reviews and
     media readership awards.

     OUR LOCAL HERITAGE
     http://www.alle-kiskitoday.com/articles/archives/8

The Oil Wars: In the early 1870s, Captain Jacob J. Vandergrift
found himself fighting for the life of his oil transport
business against a hostile corporate takeover. It seems that
Cleveland had birthed an oil industry as well. Now in alliance
with Pittsburgh oil refineries, Cleveland had serious plans
for taking over the oil fields in the Titusville oil regions.
The media called it "the Oil Wars". The man behind the scheme
was John D. Rockefeller, and his Cleveland corporation:
Standard Oil. This plan and Captain Vandergrift's reactions to
it still affects Kiski Valley gas and phone service today.

At 803.8 feet in length and 135.1 feet in diameter, the German
passenger airship Hindenburg (LZ-129) was the largest aircraft
ever to fly. The commercial flights of Hindenburg, along with
Graf Zeppelin, pioneered the first transatlantic air service.
She carried hundreds of passengers and traveled thousands of
miles before being destroyed in a tragic fire on May 6, 1937
at NAS Lakehurst. This site takes you for a trip through
