How to Create a Whitelist in Outlook Express

When you want to be able to only receive email from specific
people, it's called "whitelisting." You can create a whitelist
in Outlook Express by using its Message Rules function. Here's
     how:

        1. Click Tools and select Message Rules, then Mail.
        2. Click the New button.
         3. In the list of conditions, check the box labeled "Where
     the From line contains people."
         4. Under Rule Description, click the link "contains
     people."
        5. Click the Address Book button.
         6. Add the people from your address book that you wish to
allow to send you mail, then click OK to close the address
     book.
        7. Click the Options button.
         8. Under "Apply rule if," click "Message does not contain
     the people below." Click OK.
         9. Now under "Select the Actions for your rule," either
check the box that says "Delete it" or, if you want to be more
cautious, create a folder called Quarantine and check "Move it
to the specified folder." That way, you can check the messages
to be deleted in case there is mail there that you want to
     get. [Source: WXPnews]

     OUR LOCAL HERITAGE
     http://www.alle-kiskitoday.com/articles/archives/8

A Farm Disappears, A Town Is Born: When more and different
kinds of steel were needed, George McMurtry decided to build a
new mill--and a new town to go with it. Just across the river
from Apollo, John Townsend owned a big farm at the Kiski River
bend. But Townsend was getting older, and it was getting
harder to farm. McMurtry's company bought the Townsend farm,
and in 1895 broke ground for a new town and new mill. Massive
amounts of money, landscaping, manpower and time were dumped
into the project. And when time came for naming the town,
McMurtry shrugged off attempts to name it after him. Instead,
as the story goes, he said "Hell, boys, we'll name it after
Captain (Jacob J.) Vandergrift", who was a major partner in
the company and one of the main financiers of the venture. And
the rest is our local heritage. Read more interesting history

     http://lcweb2.loc.gov/ammem/berlhtml/berlhome.html

This site is a selection of more than 400 items from the Emile
Berliner Papers and 108 Berliner sound recordings from the
Library of Congress's Motion Picture, Broadcasting and
Recorded Sound Division. Berliner, an immigrant and a largely
self-educated man, was responsible for the development of the
microphone and the flat recording disc and gramophone player.
Although the focus of this online collection is on the
gramophone and its recordings, it includes much evidence of
Berliner's other interests, such as information on his
businesses, his crusades for the pasteurization of milk and
other public-health issues, his philanthropy, his musical
composition, and even his poetry. Spanning the years 1870 to
1956, the collection comprises correspondence, articles,
     lectures, speeches, scrapbooks, photographs, catalogs,
clippings, experiment notes, and rare sound recordings.
