     WHAT’S NEW IN ALLE-KISKI TODAY

A Former Street Person Says “There is hope”
     http://www.alle-kiskitoday.com/articles/2603

Pastor Lovie Scott has a story to tell. His story is about
hope. He knows it well because there was a time he didn’t have
any hope. His life had been on the streets and eventually in
prison. It would be another few years before he became a
     “changed man,” as he says.

13 nebulizers donated to Armstrong School District
     http://www.alle-kiskitoday.com/news/2636

Generous donors have given the Armstrong School District 13
medical devices to help students with severe asthma get the
treatment they need in school. Thanks to a donation from the
ACMH Foundation and ArmsCare, Inc., all 13 schools in the
Armstrong School District have a respiratory treatment device
called a nebulizer in each school nurse’s office.

     Art Project Grants Offered
     http://www.alle-kiskitoday.com/news/2635

     INTERNET NEWS

Jupiter: Netizens on Internet as much as TV
Jupiter Research found that online U.S. consumers are
spending 14 hours per week online -- the same amount of time
they spend watching TV. Jupiter said that online consumers
are starting to spend less and less time with old media, with
37% of online folks saying they were reading books less
because of Net time. Plus, the people who use the Net most
are also more likely to use advanced Internet activities such
as RSS and online radio. "Even the most intensive users of
newspapers and magazines spend less time reading these
publications than they do online or watching TV," Jupiter
Research analyst Barry Parr said. "TV and newspaper companies
risk losing an entire generation of users unless they
immediately start promoting their online products." [Source:

     The Benjamin Franklin Tercentenary
     http://www.benfranklin300.com/

This year marks the 300th anniversary, or tercentenary, of
Benjamin Franklin's birth. In honor of the founding father,
printer, inventor, and irrepressible raconteur, the U.S.
Congress established a commission to educate we publick about
Franklin's well-lived life. This beautifully crafted online
exhibit is one result. Follow Franklin from his disobedient
Boston beginnings, to his role in shaping the U.S.
Constitution and his tenure as an elder statesman. Along the
way, dip into sections that detail what Franklin thought of
self-improvement, how he created a colonial media empire, and
the ultimate stance he took on slavery. Finally, don't miss
the "Et Cetera" page, which includes such tidbits as what the
great man predicted for the future and how he nearly became a
     swimming coach. [Yahoo! Weekly Picks]
