     COMPUTER~INTERNET TOOLS AND TIPS

How to make everything fit on one page in WORD

There have probably been times when you come to the end of you
document, and you find that you have a few words or
sentences that have overflowed to the next page. This
can often look bad. You can make Word shrink the font
just enough so that there won't be any extra words or
sentences left and everything will fit on the last
page. You can do this by simply:

         * Opening Print Preview in the File menu.
         * Then click the Shrink to Fit button in the toolbar.
         * This is the button that has three sheets of paper on it,
one is blue, one gray, and one white.
         * Word will automatically resize the font so that there
are no more stray sentences or words when you click
           this button.
         * Make sure you look at the document before you print,
because the font might be rather small. [Source:

     OUR LOCAL HERITAGE

FLOAT FACTS: Just a few facts about the PA Canal that went
down the Kiski River and through the Allegheny Valley: The
water was little more than 4 foot deep. The locks, which
raised and lowered the water along with the canal boats, were
only 15 feet wide and 90 feet long. And the canal at the top
surface of the water was only 40 feet wide. The sides sloped
down, and the bottom was only 28 feet wide. Read more
interesting history at Our Local Heritage at above site. Click

     Hay In Art
     http://www.hayinart.com/

Hay -- it's not just for cows anymore. Dried grass can be
found in painting, literature, photos, cartoons, etchings,
poetry, and many other works throughout history. But, hey,
don't take our word for it. Sink your cud into this database
of over 5,000 images of hay in art, accompanied by thematic
essays from, yes, hay scholar Alan Ritch. Take a roll in the
hay and see how sexy fodder can be. Or learn about gender
roles in haying, where the angle of rakes and forks is
expertly analyzed. Everything from Biblical metaphors to
changing economics is reflected in the fine poetry of hay. And
lest you blunder so far as to confuse straw and grains with
the mighty hay, the author has compiled numerous examples of
the differences between various heaps of dry plant matter. You
won't cast a baleful eye at those bales again. [Yahoo! Weekly
