                         ____HISTORY SHORT____
                                   
                                   
     A gang of Counterfeiters was apprehended after trying to pass off
     “queer”(the  term used for counterfeit money) in  Vandergrift  in
     1912.  The gang consisted of a man from Vandergrift Heights and a
     woman  from Parks Township.  There was also a third arrest  of  a
     woman  from  Leechburg. It was discovered then that the  existing
     counterfeit  coin  was  coming  to  the  area  through  a  former
     Vandergrift  Heights  man who was running his  operation  out  of
     Indiana.   They all pled guilty when appearing in Federal  court.
     The  man  was sentenced to two years in prison at Levenworth  and
     the  women were each sentenced to one day in the Allegheny County
     Jail.

     KISKI AREA BASKETBALL STATE PLAYOFF GAME
     Kiski  Valley  Today  Online will be  taping  the  Kiski  Area
     Basketball  State Playoff Game on March 9.  We  will  then  be
     rebroadcasting the game at about 5pm on Sunday. PIAA broadcast
     regulations call for a 24-hour delay on the rebroadcast of the
