     In the early 1800s, Natrona, in the river valley below Natrona
     Heights, had a booming salt industry with several salt  wells.
     The  industry gave Natrona and Natrona Heights their name. Any
     chemistry  student can explain why. The formula  for  salt  is
     NaCl  for Sodium Chloride. The Na is for Sodium, part of salt,
     and  the  Latin  root  word for salt  is  natron-.  Read  more
